Originally from Gulfport, Mississippi, Ashley (Robi) Robicheaux is a choreographer, dancer, actress, director of sorts (dance-theater work and film), and music maker. During her studies at NYU, where she earned her BFA in dance, she performed works by Shannon Gillen, Pamela Pietro, Crystal Pite, Kendra Portier, and Chuck Wilt (UNA projects). Robi performed the role of Nurse Shaw in PUNCHDRUNK's off-Broadway immersive production "Sleep No More" from 2014-2015, and was an original cast member of Third Rail Project's "The Grand Paradise" from 2015-2016. She also collaborated as a performer in "FABLE", Emily Terndrup and Derrick Belcham's dance-theater work at the Knockdown Center in 2015. She has also worked with choreographers ROY ASSAF (spring 2016), Jasmine Ellis, Jason Parsons, Lauren Adams, Kate Harpootlian, Emily Schoen, Ashley Lindsey, Nicole Von Arx, Brendan Duggan, Mallory Rosenthal, Conor Doyle, and
Sophie Bortulussi.

In April of 2014, she founded her own creative platform "Ashley Robicheaux & Artists", a project oriented group that focuses on collaboration between movement and other art forms. She has collaborated as a choreographer with dancers, musicians, filmmakers, and actors on work of different kinds-- including but not limited to stage performance, installation, immersive dance-theater work, music videos, album release shows, and short films. Her work has been presented at National Sawdust, The Wild Project, Center for Performance Research, The Green Building, Mise-En Place, Gelsey Kirkland, Peridance Capezio Center, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Webster Hall, and The Good Room. As a choreographer she has held residencies as Silo Kirkland Farms and The Hollows Artspace, where she created her first fully immersive dance theater work "Mattress" in the winter and spring of 2017. The piece will be remapped in Sydney Australia, where is will be present in late 2017/early 2018. She is currently is residency as both an artist and curator at the Ace Hotel in Chelsea for August 2017.

Robi holds the belief that as artists we shouldn't have to choose one form of artistry by which to define ourselves as. While she holds a variety of credits as a performer and choreographer, she is also a member at The Actors Theater of NYC (2016-current), where she attends regular meetings and sometimes leads workshops, where she experiments with theater and movement, and human stuff. She was honored to perform her first play under the direction of Salvatore Inzerillo-- "Kingdom of Earth" by Tennessee Williams at the Box in NYC.

Most recently, she has begun to delve into making music and plans to release her first EP "Lost and Found" in the fall of 2017 under the songstress name of ROBI.
